The department was established at the very commencement of the institution i.e. in June 1968 (B.Com.) and Post Graduate(M.Com.) from the year 2022-23 Department has been imparting quality higher education in Commerce and Management to the rural students. Care has been taken to unveil inhibitions from the mind of the students who hail from rural background. It offers UG courses in Commerce at compulsory and special level. There is one fulltime and 3 CHB faculties with good academic qualifications, experience and dedication towards the profession in the department. It provides remedial coaching to disadvantaged students and runs Business Administration Certificate Course to strengthen Managerial skills of the students as well. The departmental library provides rare collection of reference books Management, Marketing and Accountancy to the students. They acquire and nurture ICT skills and global competencies through computers with internet facility in the department itself. The department is proud of its alumni. They have occupied prominent positions in diverse fields. Vision:- Department of Commerce should be known to imparting quality higher education to rural and socio-economically deprived sections of the society viewing national and global necessities because of the changing and evolving Economy. Mission:- To Impart basic accounting knowledge as applicable to business. To Knowing Entrepreneurship concept and awareness regarding Economical development. To familiarize the student with basic concept and Research view. To promote research attitude and ICT based teaching-learning process among faculty and students. To inculcate values of social equality, secularism and national integration among the students.
